NGNG travels to London for the exciting and marvelous ELCAF 2013!
Tuesday 18th June
This Saturday, the 22nd of June to be specific – we’ll be attending the East London Comic and Art Fair (ELCAF) to soak up our fill of printed materials, and get involved with some very delicious workshops! And what’s more we’ll be taking the shop with us, that’s right London folk – now is the time to come and grab a piece of No Guts No Glory for yourselves! ..…(ahem) as well as explore the other wonderful offerings from the best publishers, artists and collectives across Europe! We’ll also be catching up with a few artists we’ve got to know over the last few years and will be sharing the space with some really wonderful artists!
We’ve been waiting since just after the last ELCAF to get involved with this one, and staying in London town means that we get to kip with the brilliant Sandra Dieckmann fresh from her travels speaking at Semi-Permanent in Australia and New Zealand! Wow! She even mentioned us in her talk – THANKS SANI!
We’ll have a few awesome new prints from Sandra that we’ll be sure to share with the rest of the world when we get back from our trip! On our shiny new website – soon to be launched.
MAN are we excited… ELCAF is organised by mighty publishers NOBROW whose beautiful publications you will find in the NGNG shop.
ELCAF will run this year from 10am – 7pm and they have a very exciting art filled day lined up, there are a whole host of workshops and talks throughout the day - some that we’ve been getting particularly excited about are Berlin based distro The Treasure Fleet, sharing their experiences and shedding light on the Berlin art scene - intriguing!
Artist in residence Andy Rementer is giving a talk about his mighty portfolio, and a talk from Portland based Reading Frenzy - an art shop and all round awesome project in the states….
We’ve also been dreaming about the toy hacking workshop from Exploring Senses and the newspaper project by The Loop – create your own!
There will also be wall painting competitions from Secret Wall as well as the famous Street Kitchen Burgervan, burger inspired nail painting from Nailburgerlar and as an extra condiment, hand drawn pen tattoos will be available from artist Damien Weighill! All to celebrate NOBROW’s release of the Burgerac Burgermat show! Check out the full spec on the ELCAF website, it’s mind bogglingly good & guaranteed to make you hungry!
ELCAF will be chock full of hand-selected artists selling their own work so you’ll get to come along and chat to them as well as pick up some handmade printed works to cherish! LONG LIVE PRINT! We’ll hopefully see you there! If you can make it to London, ELCAF will be held in the mighty York Hall from 10am to 7pm this Saturday 22nd June, tickets are just £3!!! They’re selling out pretty fast so grab a few and bring some friends… ELCAF is only once a year and not to be missed!
